McFarlane Toys Fortnite Ragnarok Figure Review

Image
I came across two more Fortnite toys I liked so I figured I'd do some more photography. I don't know anything about the character so here is what the wiki says: "Ragnarok is a Legendary Outfit in Fortnite: Battle Royale that can be unlocked by reaching Tier 100 in the Season 5 Battle Pass. He is also a character in Chapter 2: Season 5 that was added into update v15.00. Ragnarok first appeared in Season 5, having been pulled from his own viking reality, along with his Viking Village. He appeared once again in Chapter 2: Season 5, appearing at the Superstore next to Holly Hedges. (Formerly Hey Boo! Megastore), now turned into Viking Vessel." Here he is in his shiny new packaging. McFlarlane continues with the nice box art. Here is the contents of the package. I like the way the pick looks, but the shotgun is kinda lacking. The cape attaches by a slot in his back. For some reason his knobby elbows keep catching my eyes. And now for the action shots. Ov...

Hasbro Marvel Legends Series Venom - Carnage Review

Image
Hello all! I was eatting dinner with everyone when a package came in and I wanted to hop into this asap. Who needs sleep? I give you carnage. I really liked the artwork on the side of the box. A lineup of Carnage and his accessories. I like his little back wigglies. Testing the joints and poseability. He has more movement than the Neca gremlin I did recently, but I feel like some of his joints are too floppy. Floppy or not, I really like how poseable he is. Doing a Matrix pose Shakespeare? Celebrating the winning kick. Taking a moment to breathe and relax. Standing in contemplation. When you assemble all the parts that come with each figure you get this charming fellow: Hoo boy. Carnage and the rest of the series Venom can be found below (Amazon affiliate links): Carnage Miles Morales Phage Morbius Ghost-Spider

NECA Gremlins Ultimate Gamer Gremlin Review

Image
For my very first review I give to you the NECA Ultimate Gamer Gremlin. My family and I were browsing in Target for some good looking toys to photograph for the blog and we came across this little gem. I wasn't the biggest fan of the toy line before, but after recently rewatching the old Gremlins movies I had to do something with him. My wife found him first so I'm blaming her for everything I do with him now. Look at him in all his plastic glory. This little guy comes with several accesories and two hand swaps. The little propeller on his hat spins too! The popcorn comes out of the tub turning it into a hat. There were a good number of saftey ties on the back and I had to cut them with a box cutter to free him. I'm sure there was a potentially safer way, but eh. Laughing at another gremlin. He's sad that he dropped his popcorn. So he turns it into a hat! Wanna play? Ready for the show. Saturday night at it's finest Gamed too hard. Way to...

TIE Fighter at the duck park

Image
It's been a while since I picked up the camera and took some photos of toys so when I saw a new TIE fighter from Hotwheels come in at work I had the urge to break out the camera and give it another shot. Pun intended. I didn't really have any decent backdrops to use so I dedided to run an idea by my gaming group and we all took a trip to the nearby duck park. This is the only decent photo of the fighter that I got from the trip. I'll have to look into getting some wires or something to hold up the models so I don't need to keep the very noticable bases in the shot. And now for the best part The Duckies! On our way back to the park entrance we came across some fishies and I managed to grab a shot before they scattered. If you want your own Tie fighter, it can be found here (amazon affiliate link)

Meet The Monsters Of Kingdom Death - The Screaming Antelope

Image
Next up on our Creature Feature I give you the Screaming Anttelope. "There was once a fearsome monster that was trained by the Hand to be a steed for the Goblin. However, upon smelling its new master, the monster's mind shattered and it ran into the unknown, foaming at the mouth and biting the noses off the stone faced floor." Official artwork of the Screaming Antelope. In the current edition of Kingdom Death (1.5) the Screaming Antelope is frequently seen as a loot pinata. Many locations in the hit deck grant resources if you score a critical hit so with the right build it is not unreasonable to claim almost the entirety of the resource deck. Blunt weapons such as the club or shield are especially useful due to gaining increased critical threat range on some locations. Unfortunately the antelope like to flee when hit and will often times run across to the other side of the battlefield causing the party to waste time trying to chase it down. At higher levels the...

Meet The Monsters Of Kingdom Death - The Gorm

Image
For our first creature feature I give you everyone's favorite baby faced hippo monster, the Gorm! "One day, great woe fell upon the settlement. Unrelenting storms raged overhead. Out of the squall, a giant beast came to gobble up the strongest and most beautiful, then wandered back into the darkness with a lonesome cry, searching for a mate." Official artwork of the Gorm. While not the most difficult monster to wound in the beginning the Gorm quickly becomes problematic when hitting it causes it to projectile vomit on you dealing wounds that ignore armor to everyone in front of it. The higher level Gorm hunts hit you with permanent injuries, debuffs, and can leave you crippled before you even start the fight. But wait, it gets better. Just having the Gorm expansion in your game causes severe acid thunderstorms that can cause a survivor to ram a stone into their eye socket, severely hinder your settlement's growth, or destroy half of your settlement's reso...

Meet The Survivors of Kingdom Death

Image
My group has been focusing a lot on Kingdom Death over the past few weeks so almost all progress on my other projects has come to a screeching halt. Hobbying is still being done so there is that at least. For those who haven't heard of it, Kingdom Death in a nutshell is a board game where you build a settlement and fight monsters. The summary from the Kingdom Death wiki describes it as follows: "Kingdom Death: Monster is a strategy board game designed to be played by four players. In Kingdom Death: Monster, players take on the role of adventurers who barely survive an attack by a monstrous lion. Forming a settlement nearby, they celebrate this victory with a yearly lantern festival followed by a ceremonial hunt against another monster. The game is a story-driven campaign that takes place over approximately 30 of these "lantern years". Most lantern years are divided into three phases: the hunt, the showdown, and the settlement phase. As a complete game is esti...
