McFarlane Toys Fortnite Ragnarok Figure Review

Image
I came across two more Fortnite toys I liked so I figured I'd do some more photography. I don't know anything about the character so here is what the wiki says: "Ragnarok is a Legendary Outfit in Fortnite: Battle Royale that can be unlocked by reaching Tier 100 in the Season 5 Battle Pass. He is also a character in Chapter 2: Season 5 that was added into update v15.00. Ragnarok first appeared in Season 5, having been pulled from his own viking reality, along with his Viking Village. He appeared once again in Chapter 2: Season 5, appearing at the Superstore next to Holly Hedges. (Formerly Hey Boo! Megastore), now turned into Viking Vessel." Here he is in his shiny new packaging. McFlarlane continues with the nice box art. Here is the contents of the package. I like the way the pick looks, but the shotgun is kinda lacking. The cape attaches by a slot in his back. For some reason his knobby elbows keep catching my eyes. And now for the action shots. Ov...

The Nightmare Before Krampus Day Pt4

So after much procrastination and waiting for things to come in the mail I have finally finished the Witches And Woes crew. I used the Secret Weapon Miniatures Field of Screams Bases (which can be found here ) for all of the crew because I thought the jackolanterns fit quite well with the flaming pumpkin headed sorrows. So now without further ado, I present to you the crew. Sorrows A, B, and C. Next up we have the Poltergeist. The ever loveable Baby Kade. The sweet and sour youth, Candy. And lastly the bringer of misfortune herself, Pandora. This crew was a little challenging to paint at times, but overall I enjoyed painting them. My wife started doing the base coats on a few models and I took over everything else as well as the detail work. Lets just hope that New Model Syndrome doesnt stirke when they play their first match against the Rasputina crew.

Over the last few days I've been getting back into the swing of painting and made some more progress on the Nightmare Before Krampus Day project. On the left we have the newly repainted Poltergiest and on the right we have one of the Sorrows. Both are from the Witches and Woes alternate Pandora Crew.

After much delay we were able to finally finish the core of the nightmare Rasputina crew. Below you can see the alternate Ice Gamin (or as we refer to them the Derpy Gamin) Next up you have the Beast-in-a-box (alternate wendigo) and the alternate Rasputina Lastly you have Krampus (alternate Snow Storm) and Festivus Aborus (alternate Ice Golem) And here we have the group all together. As with the last batch my wife did the painting on everyone and I just did the basing.

My wife and I are working on two seasonal crews for a special game of Malifux. One player will be playing the nightmare Pandora crew and the other will be playing the nightmare Rasputina crew. In this battle the holidays of Spookmas and Krampus Day are going head to head to see which is the best holiday once and for all. Below you have the Festivus Aborus on the left (alternate Ice Golem) and the Beast In A Box on the right (alternate Wendigo). Both were painted by my wife, I just did the basing.

Mechanical Attendant

I have a tutorial game of Malifaux in a few days and the crew one of my gaming buddies wanted to use wasn't even attached to their bases yet. So after a breif moment of panic I tossed on a few podcasts such as Trapped under plastic and got to work. All in all I think it looks fairly decent for a hour or so of work. It isn't amazing, but it looks pretty good for a Table top strandard tier of painting.

Ice Ice Golem

These guys are my first tries at dry brushing and I'm really proud of how they came out. The big guy on top is the Ice Golem and the little guys are Ice Gamin. For a big ice statue, the Ice Golem has a well sculpted arse. Seriously, look at it.

The Wonderful Mr. Lynch

This is a guy I've had for a few years now and I use him as a benchmark for when I started trying to improve my painting. The main thing I take away from this model is that glossy spray varnish is not suitable for all models.
