McFarlane Toys Fortnite Ragnarok Figure Review

Image
I came across two more Fortnite toys I liked so I figured I'd do some more photography. I don't know anything about the character so here is what the wiki says: "Ragnarok is a Legendary Outfit in Fortnite: Battle Royale that can be unlocked by reaching Tier 100 in the Season 5 Battle Pass. He is also a character in Chapter 2: Season 5 that was added into update v15.00. Ragnarok first appeared in Season 5, having been pulled from his own viking reality, along with his Viking Village. He appeared once again in Chapter 2: Season 5, appearing at the Superstore next to Holly Hedges. (Formerly Hey Boo! Megastore), now turned into Viking Vessel." Here he is in his shiny new packaging. McFlarlane continues with the nice box art. Here is the contents of the package. I like the way the pick looks, but the shotgun is kinda lacking. The cape attaches by a slot in his back. For some reason his knobby elbows keep catching my eyes. And now for the action shots. Ov...

3D Map Dungeon WIP (Radar Center)

Image
Today I was playing a Steam Game called They Are BIllions and I liked the way the map looked. I decided I wanted to run it as a dungeon and began to map out the area. As you can see, I am clearly not the best Cartographer. Grabbing a square of XPS foam (Insulation foam) and a old pen I began to slowly mark out a grid on the foam. Good lord that was tedious. After getting a cramp in my back I finally finished. Grabbing another pen I traced the outlines of the room and scrawled what room was what on the map. Our girlfriend wanted to help witht he project so I suggested she try the hotwire foam cutter. Four sheets of foam and several neck and back kinks later the dungeon has been cut out. I stepped away during cleanup for a few minutes and I discover that the Squigs (our cats) have invaded the dungeon. Say hello to Colette (left) and Pandora (right). Also known as Squiggums and Derpy. In case anyone was wondering, the squigs were named after Malifaux masters. Now that the base a...

Ice Ice Golem

Image
These guys are my first tries at dry brushing and I'm really proud of how they came out. The big guy on top is the Ice Golem and the little guys are Ice Gamin. For a big ice statue, the Ice Golem has a well sculpted arse. Seriously, look at it.

Here comes the Juggernaut

Image
This guy was a request from our girlfriend that I finished a while back. He took a dive off of the gaming table shortly after he was primed and the glue wouldn't take so I had to learn how to pin a mini and fast. He proceeded to wreck my 'jacks during the rest of the game. I guess he was angry about his arm coming off.

Poxy the poxwalker

Image
This little guy is my favorite Poxwalker. In the few games of 40K I played he took far more fire than should have been necessary to put down. He was the first walker I painted and he earned his paint job.

3D Print Gengar

Image
This little guy consists of a Gengar and a base that were both printed from a resin printer. I tried three times to get a good print of this sculpt and the first ended up missing the front half of it's body. Even this one is missing his toes, but we called it good enough. The base printed just fine on the first attempt though. Good lord 3D printing resin is a headache. My wife painted both pieces.

Witchwood

Image
A Witchwood model my wife painted shortly after the Grymkin came out. This is the first time we tried adding vines to a model. I think they came out fairly nicely.

Alft the snow goblin wizard

Image
Introducing the Alft the snow goblin wizard. This is a custom sculpt created by Hero Forge for one of my gaming buddies who we call Whiffs. During his first gaming session he had a streak of missing and when we played Zombicide he would always run straight for the clues located in toilets. If you haven't done so already you should check them out here . "Mangy mutt! Magi magi missile!" -Alft during our first encounter with diseased wolves.

Ossiarch Bonereapers

Image
I finally got around to painting the Bonereapers from the Feast of Bones box from Age of Sigmar. They were done in about two weeks and I'm quite happy with how they came out.

Ogor Mawpot

Image
My wife recently finished the Great Mawpot for the Ogor Mawtribes. It was gifted to her by our girlfiend and turned out to be quite a time consuming project.

Dolly, Dreamer, Skinny, and Zaateroth

Image
There are a few minis from Warmahordes that my wife and I are specially proud of. Dolly and the Skin And Moans are still a WIP done by me Zaateroth and The Dreamer are finished works done by my wife.

The Wonderful Mr. Lynch

Image
This is a guy I've had for a few years now and I use him as a benchmark for when I started trying to improve my painting. The main thing I take away from this model is that glossy spray varnish is not suitable for all models.

Celebration!

Image
I liked the shots I had of Godzilla and the Gundam so I wanted to try a few more. Here we see a psycho celebrating while getting a shoulder ride from Godzilla.

Playing with editing software 1 (Cat practice)

Image
My wife wanted to play with our camera and bother the cats at the same time so I turned it into a bit of editing practice. It's a silly little thing I did for fun. The black & white cat eating is Colette and the spacey looking one is Pandora (we call her Derpy).

Shield Bash!

Image
I think this is my favorite out out of the Godzilla & Gundam photos I've taken. I really like the way the after bash pose came out.

No more hat for you

Image
I decided to goof around a little and take a few more shots of Godzilla and the Gundam.
